Hook - A REAL show

This evening was Maisie's big stage debut in the park district production of Hook. The kids involved have been practicing and working since Sept. It was a great show - here are a few backstage shots (taken by Maisie) and a few of Maisie with her adoring fans at the end.

We really could title this entry "A STAR IS BORN" I believe that tonight Maisie is the happiest girl alive. According to her biography at the play Maisie is "determined to be a star". Hmmmm..... we'll have to see what happens!

Just another Remake....

Now for anyone who knew my cousins Les and Matt and my brother Jack and me growing up you'll remember quite well (although maybe not fondly) that every time we got together we would have a "show". Didn't matter if it was for a few hours or a week long get away, a huge part of our time together would consist of us planning the costuming, programming, and all other important details of "the show". "The show would then turn into every adult present sitting and watching us perform some very well honed talents for as long as we could get them to sit (roller skating, dancing, singing, circus performing, re-enacting "Grease" or lipsincing to Ktel Records - you name it, we did it!). Well flash ahead 30+ years and imagine my surprise as I heard Maisie bossing Jackson, Fiona, Sammy, and Ben around saying "hurry up, it's almost time for the show". I peaked down in the basement and low and behold they were working on a show!!! About the only details worked out tonight were the roles, costuming and the plan of it being "Peter Pan". I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings. Luckily today we have flip cams- we can edit it and everyone can watch from afar.

Stanek visit

The Stanek and Zink kids got to hook up with one another for a few hours today. A great time was had by all!

Two new birds

We've added two Easter Eggers to our flock. They are only ten weeks so they are much smaller than the rest of the hens and are not laying yet. We have them separated in the coop and run so they don't get picked on by our big pushy birds. Here is Sammy with them on their first day here- they are very friendly and love the kids and being handled.

Maisie lost two teeth!

Two nights in a row!

Finally our two girls settle down and ironically it's together! That's two nights in a row for these two rambunctious little ladies :-)

We have a new cat by Maisie

We have a new cat. Her name when she came to us was Pooh. We are going to rename her. Pooh is adorable.
