Brunch in the Sugar Mill
We had a great lunch at a restaurant at the springs that specialized in pancakes. Actually, they specialized in pancake batter, we cooked the pancakes ourselves. All of the tables had a built-in griddle in the middle. We received pitchers of batter, eggs, and bread to cook ourselves on our table. Maple syrup, molasses, and honey were provided to drizzle over our hot breakfasts, and we each had our own spatulas to flip our food. The restaurant was built inside a historical replica of an old sugar mill, which was powered by a stream coming from the historical "Fountain of Youth". We had a great day at the state park, where we took a boat tour, explored the historical site, and Maisie earned her "Junior Ranger" status from the park rangers.

Sammy's Golden Birthday!
Today was Sammy's fourteenth birthday. Since her Golden birthday is only once in a lifetime we decided to celebrate with a party with her friends. It was an awesome day, she has some really great people in her life. We rented the space above Moore Toys and Games in town and dyed tshirts.

End of summer fun
Well summer vacation has been winding down. Since our return from Camp we have managed to squeeze in a few cousin parties (no pictures), a Sox game, and the Renaissance Fair . The kids have gone back to school (no pictures) and we have one more "official" weekend of summer left! Here are the girls in their Renn Fair costumes. I made Maisie's Fairy Costume but Sam did her Steampunk costume completely on her own. Check out her googles!

Happy Summer Vacation!
Well it's mid-July & summer is halfway over. We just returned from an awesome vacation at Camp 4U in NY. While we were there we visited Howe's Cavern. The last time I was there was in 1982 and John was there a few years later. Things have changed up on top since then but not too much down below. The kids enjoyed it and Ben thinks he wants to become a cave explorer now. Sam spent the week at Camp 4U fishing on Uncle Joe's boat with John and is officially addicted now. As usual Maisie spent the most time in the water. She is quite the swimmer and can catch up with the paddle boat now when the big kids are trying to escape on it. Want to know how we know this??? As always Uncle Joe entertained the kids with tubing. Our kids and my cousin Missy's boys had fun playing in the water together. You'll see a few pics of Freckles at camp. She had fun too. She spent some time off-leash and was in the water too. She wasn't brave enough to let her feet get off the bottom, maybe next year......
