Finally, it's winter!

Well we have been waiting and waiting.  Looks like this might be as good as it gets.  We'll do the best we can.  Kids got out the snowboards, igloo brickmaker, and even the dog's sweater.  Now all we need is enough snow for a snow day!!!

Zoe is Eight!

It is Zoe's birthday - she is eight now.  Hard to believe that she and Maisie have been friends since they celebrated their third birthdays together.  Here we are now.  My how things have changed....

Well I guess they really haven't changed all that much, just lost a comrade in beauty to a cross country move.

Congratulations to Sammy!  We are so proud of her.  She has won an award in the PTA reflections contest.  Her poem "In The Magic of A Moment" was the poetry winner for her school. 

Happy Birthday Ms Tressa and Mr Brenden!

We went to The Ranch for family day today to celebrate Tressa and Brenden's birthdays and their engagement, HURRAH!!!  It was a fun day and I think we have two future line dancers on our hands.  It took Maisie a while to warm up but once she got going there was no stopping her!  Sammy was a natural.  Luckily she had Tress and Brenden showing her the ropes since John and I were useless!

Finally some snow!

Well it's Jan 5 and we have finally gotten snow.  Too bad 1/2 an inch is all we had and it is gone already!!!

 The chickens need more daylight.  Out of our 14 hens only 4 are laying consistently.  One is even in a full molt!

Although designed for camping I think this lamp will be getting plenty of use around the house.
