Sad News

Today Sam's pet rat Rizzo died. She is really upset, she loved him very much. Last night during her birthday party sleepover, the girls went up to give him a treat and he was curled up in a ball and struggling to breath. He died this afternoon.

Sam isn't ready to talk about it with anyone but we thought we should let everyone know. Lisa

"Bye Rizzo, you were a good pet, even if your tail smelled bad" love Maisie

Snow Day!

First big snow! All in all about 8 inches of snow. It's nice and warm and great packing snow but way too heavy to shovel, I worked in 3 one hour blocks and barely made a dent in it. We need a plow!!!

Day With Friends

Happy Birthday Emma!

Main Street Our Town

Here are a few more pictures from our day on Sunday. I will give Jenn credit for all of these great pics. You can tell we didn't take them, for the first time John and I can be seen!

Tree Lighting and Santa

Here are a few pics of the waiting for Santa to arrive for the town tree lighting. The camera froze since it was so cold & it lost focus. We didn't get any pics of the horse drawn wagon touring around town at the end of the evening. The Camera and the Zinks were just too cold!

The Christmas Tree Adventure

We went with our new friends Jen and Chris and their girls Emma and Laura to NH and found a place to cut our Christmas tree down. It was a true adventure! We followed the homemade signs through town looking for "the place". It felt like a wild goose chase, especially since once we got there, there didn't seem to be a soul around and there was no way to drive our van any further. The owner sped up on his "gator" and told John and I to hop in. Then we loaded our kids in Chris's truck. Did you know you could cram 7 in a truck? Don't worry, for safety's sake we didn't put them in the back :-) After driving through the mud, slush and snow with the owner and his little dog as the co-pilot we arrived! There was a little patch of trees to choose from. John brought his bow saw but luckily the owner sped things up with a chainsaw. We had so much fun - especially since we finally spent the day with someone other than each other. Yeah, Friends!!!!
