WEEK 4 AND GROWING FAST

Still in the living room. Nights are cold - coop not built yet. Maisie is not too fond of the chickens. This as close as we can get her to holding them. Looks like Sam is going to be in charge of them.

Best Mother's Day Ever!

What a great Mother's Day I had. Yard work all day and Lou Malnotti's for dinner. It really doesn't get any better than this! Thank you John, Ben, Sam, and Maisie!!!!!










My family helped me clean the yard today with no grumbling. It looks awesome, for those of you who haven't seen the house yet now you know why I need to get on putting up some window treatments....

Week Three cont.....

The chicks are growing like mad! The have about tripled in size (which makes sense since it is week three). They are roosting on perches, testing their wings, and cheeping away most every minute with ten minute nap breaks.

Chicks - Week Three

Sam is by far the most comfortable with the chicks. It is not odd to see her with three of them perched on her while she lays on the floor next to the cage. Here she is with Speck who has lost most of her fuzz and is growing her feathers. Her wing feathers came in first now and now her tail feathers are filling in.
